All bidder questions are due not later than 11:00 a.m. on January 24, 2024 to SJUSD Facilities Business Department facilitiesbusiness@sanjuan.edu, Maria Mahon - maria.mahon@sanjuan.edu, General Scope of Work Applicable to both Fields to include but not limited to: Scope of work for the installation of a new Stark SS Series filter system with a CM200 semi-auto backwash control, a Pentair 15HP TEFC EQ Pump with strainer and a 15HP Danfoss VFD drive. o Demo the existing plumbing to the pump and filter and haul off site. o Demo the existing iron filter, remove sand & gravel and haul all off site. o Disconnect the existing pump and give it to SJUSD. (Retain usable parts from the old pump & housing) o Demo existing PVC pipe from city water backflow and replace it with galvanized pipe. o Form and pour a concrete housekeeping pad for the new filter and pump. o Set the filter on the new keeping pad, build the manifold piping on the new filter. o Load gravel in the filter to finish plumbing. o Anchor the filters to the new keeping pad with the factory supplied anchors. o Set the new pump in the same location as the old pump and anchor to the new pad. o Replace all exterior PVC piping with new schedule 80 PVC, fittings, and valves. From the boiler to the valve flanges at the concrete wall. o Existing chemical feeder lines will remain, keep controller, install new feeders & tubing at the proper location. o Install new Asahi Butterfly Valves with SS hardware. o Install a new Tuf-Skin check valve with SS hardware. o Install the semi-auto backwash control system (CM200 Multi-port and gauge panel). o Utilize on site city water for the backwash control. (No booster pump) o Field install a 2" priority valve loop including a new valve to help regulate the flow for the backwash. o All plumbing will be supported with strut and anchored to the ground per code. o Supply and install new flow meters on the main pool loop and heater loop. o Load sand in the filters. o Backwash the filters. o Set the flow rate to the heater and mark the valve. o Run new conduit from the panel to the new VFD. o Run new conduit from the VFD to the conduit that leads to the main pump. o Replace the wires to the pump if required by code. o Program the VFD, test phasing. o Set the pump speed to show the required flow rate on the systems flow meter. o Replace city water backflow device. Clarifications: o El Camino HS Lap Pool = 187,550 Gallons o Installation contractor is responsible for: o Purchasing, ordering, storing the above specified Filter, Pump, VFD drive & all other materials/parts. o Supplying all sand and gravel for new filters. o Submitting for the county permit (including fees) on approval of the sales quote. o Salvage all useable parts from existing equipment/machinery and return to SJUSD. o Hauling off existing unusable material/parts (including haul off/disposal fees). o Provide recorded onsite training for M&O staff upon completion of work described above. o Use all stainless-steel hardware for all flanges and valves. o DIR Registration required. o Payment and Performance Bond required. o Closeout documents required (2 yr Guarantee included). With its Bid, the Bidder must submit a Cashier's Check, Certified Check or Bid Bond for ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid, made payable to the San Juan Unified School District.
