Renovation of an educational facility in Madison, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
In general, the work consists of: the replacement of 8 elevators in 6 different buildings on the University of Wisconsin- Madison Campus and includes related work. The project includes placing the elevator controller, power or pumping unit, car, hoistway doors, operating equipment, car door sills, car operating panels, car roller/guides, and the hoist system. All safety equipment including safeties, governor, governor ropes, buggers, rope grippers will be upgraded and all cab fixtures will be vandal proof. Project work also upgrades the cab interior and lighting and microprocessor based control systems to improve energy consumption and improve traffic management. Related work includes adding a cooling system in each elevator machine room to satisfy the equipment warranty. Lobby and machine room lighting are being augmented to meet required lighting levels. Cutting and patching openings in fire rated shafts, and expansion of a machine room for improving equipment access. Bid Guarantee in the amount of 10% of the Bid must accompany each bid submitted.
