As of March 18,2024, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established. Denton Municipal Electric (DME, City of Denton, Texas) is seeking proposals for site preparation and construction of concrete retaining wall for the Underwood Substation. The major work will consist of the following: Site Preparation: The Contractor shall install/construct and maintain the stormwater pollution prevention (SWPP) features in accordance with the approved SWPP plan. Maintenance shall continue until revegetation has been completed and the City has authorized removal of the SWPP features. The Contractor shall be responsible for removing all SWPP features once authorized by the City. The Contractor shall remove barbed wire fencing and clear the designated portion of the respective site of all vegetation, including grass, trees, brush and bushes and grade the site in accordance with the grading plan. The Contractor shall take care not to disturb or remove vegetation not designated for removal. The Contractor shall be responsible for removing and disposing of all plant material generated during clearing and stripping. The Contractor shall fully grade and compact the entire designated portion of the site including surface leveling, shaping, and compacting the site in accordance with the grading plan. The Contractor shall construct drainage improvements including installation of storm drains that extend past the site as shown on the plans. Other work including access driveway construction, clean up, and landscaping in accordance with civil drawings. Final grading, recompacting of the site, and placing of open-graded rock surface. Gravity Retaining Wall: Earthwork including excavation for wall foundation, backfilling of soil, and foundation subgrade preparation Installation of reinforced concrete retaining wall of varying heights. Installation of concrete flume along the backside of the wall Coordination with precast concrete security wall contractor for installation of pilasters for security wall piers The Underwood Substation is located adjacent to Underwood Road just north of FM 2499. A general location map is shown in the drawings. There is not a pre-bid conference scheduled for this project. The City will not allow late submissions due to technical difficulties. Each respondent is responsible for taking the necessary steps to ensure their submission is received by the date and time .Electronic proposals without hard copy bonds will be automatically rejected. Electronic submissions require original hard copy of Bid Bonds. Hard copy bid bonds must be submitted before the submission deadline using hard submission requirements. In accordance with the provisions of Texas State Law, the City of Denton (the City) is requesting submissions to contract with an individual or business with considerable experience in providing goods or services of this solicitation. The responses and the cost solutions shall be submitted to the City of Denton in a sealed submission. The awarded individual or business shall possess a proven track record of using innovative approaches to providing goods and services that represent the best value to their clients. The awarded individual or business shall have the ability to accomplish all aspects of the requested services. The selected individual or firm should be able to provide innovative methods to deal with municipal challenges, and cost effective solutions. A firm may submit a solicitation response for one or more of the categories of product or services requested in this solicitation. Each Proposal for projects over $100,000, must be accompanied by Offerors Bond made payable to City in an amount of five (5) percent of Offerors maximum price proposed Proposal Form attached, issued by a surety meeting the requirements of Paragraphs 6.01 of the General Conditions The City reserves the right to reject any or all Proposals, including without limitation the rights to reject any or all nonconforming, nonresponsive, unbalanced, or conditional Proposals and to reject the Proposal of any Offeror if City believes that it would not be in the best interest of the Project to make an award to that Offeror, whether because the Proposal is not responsive or the Offeror is unqualified or of doubtful financial ability or fails to meet any other pertinent standard or criteria established by City.
