New construction of a fire / police facility in Whitby, Ontario. Working plans call for the construction of a 12,333-square-foot, one-story above grade fire / police facility.
Construction of a new 1-storey fire station #6 in West Whitby; slab on-grade construction; approx. 1,142 sq m. The interior will contain apparatus bay, meeting rooms, offices, living quarters including dormitories, washrooms/showers, laundry, kitchen and dining, gym and activity spaces; equipment storage and building services spaces. Project will comply with the Whitby Green Standard and target Zero Carbon Building (ZCB) Design Compliance Certification. TIMELINE: Ceremonial Groundbreaking ONLY took place September 2025. Designs are ongoing and nearing completion. Prequalified General Contractors were secured by the town of Whitby under RFPQ-14-2025. No information has been provided on the Invited tender timeline. Further update late summer / early fall 2026. *Owner contact is unreleased for publication. *Construction has been estimated at $17 million.
