As of February 29, 2024, project was awarded to M & J Underground, Inc, awarded amount is $1,070,510.70. The base bid of the work shall consist of the installation of 8" and 10" PVC water main, 10" HDPE water main, water service installation from the new water mains to connections within the houses, and ancillary items. The 8" and 10" PVC water main will be installed by open trench construction methods. The 10" HDPE water main will be installed by horizontal directional drilling construction methods. There is an alternate bid item of horizontal directional drilling PVC water main. Work will include all incidental and collateral work necessary to complete the project as shown on the plans. The Village of Crete has applied for permits for the project work. Prequalification of Bidders in accordance with the applicable parts of IDOT Bureau of Local Roads and Streets Recurring Special Provision "Bidding Requirements and Conditions for Contract Proposals" (Check Sheet LRS 6) will be required of all bidders on this proposal. Not less than the prevailing rate of wages as found by the Village or the Department of Labor, or as determined by the Court on Review, shall be paid to all laborers, workmen, and mechanics performing work as indicated in the special provisions to the specifications. All proposals must be accompanied by a proposal guarantee in the amount of not less than five percent of bid, or as provided in applicable parts of "Bidding Requirements and Conditions for Contract Proposals" The right is reserved to reject any or all proposals and to waive technicalities.
