Renovation of an educational facility in Birmingham, Alabama. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project will consist of removal of existing roof system and installation of new modified bitumen roof system, approximately 48,667 SF. A cashiers check or bid bond payable to HOOVER CITY SCHOOLS in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000, must accompany the bidders proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance required in the bid documents will be required at the signing of the Contract. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owners judgment, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted. The successful bidder will provide proof of enrollment in the Federal E-Verify Program and in compliance with the Beason-Hammon Alabama Taxpayer & Citizen Protection Act (Act 211-535). PRE-QUALIFICATION PROCEDURE: Only general contractors who have been approved to bid pursuant to pre-qualification procedures and criteria established by the Owner will be eligible to bid for the Project. Any person or firm wishing to apply for pre-qualification may obtain a copy of the Owner's Pre-qualification Application Requirements from the Architect by emailing admin@swa-consultants.com. Applications for pre- qualification must be received by the Architect by 5:00 PM CT, Wednesday February 5, 2025, after which no further applications will be considered. The Owner will complete the pre-qualification process and name the general contractors who are approved to bid the Project by 12:00 noon CT, Thursday, February 6, 2025. The Owner reserves the right to modify or abandon this pre-qualification process at any time prior to its completion should the interests of the Owner appear to be promoted thereby.
