Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Middlefield, Connecticut. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; for paving for a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

The Town of Middlefield reserves the right to waive any informalities or defects in any bid. The Town reserves the right to accept other than the lowest bid if the Board of Selectmen, in its sole discretion, deems it to be in the best interest of the Town to do so. Bids, amendments to bids or withdrawal of bids after the time set for bid acceptance will not be considered. The purpose of this project is to reclaim the current basketball court located at Peckham Park so that it is more functional and usable for future use. The current court does not allow for uninterrupted basketball play. The current court has several cracks running in different directions throughout the court, which have been temporarily filled with an asphalt-based crack filler. People engaging in practice or a game of basketball expect a smooth surface for movement and dribbling, however our court has unexpected cracks which leaves the court undesirable. Additionally, we would like to make the court more adaptable for other activities that require a smooth, flat surface. In addition to creating a new surface, we would like to have standard lines painted for full court basketball. No interpretations of the meaning of the Plans or other pre-bid documents will be made to any Bidder orally. Every request for such interpretation shall be in writing, either by email to parkrec@middlefieldct.org or phone 860-349-7122 or by mail addressed to the Park & Recreation Department, Town of Middlefield, P.O. Box 179, Middlefield, CT 06455. To be given consideration, such requests must be received at least three (3) working days prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids. No Faxes.
