Site work and renovation of a mixed-use development in Merced, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; and for site work for a water / sewer project.
As of October 2025, the project has been bid and awarded. Award information has not been disclosed. A firm construction timeline has not been established. UC Merced is replacing 3 hot water boilers located in the Central Utilities Plant located on the campus. Each existing boiler will be replaced with two medium-sized units which will be Contractor Furnished Contractor Installed (CFCI). Boiler specifications are provided in the approved plan set that will be available to qualified bidders. The existing electrical, piping and flues will require modification to accommodate the new boilers. Additionally, the Central Plant floor outside of the equipment housekeeping pads is not rated for heavy equipment. Structural members and concrete pads will require modification and temporary shoring and/or load distribution methods will have to be provided to UC Merced for approval prior to removal and installation of equipment.
