The Berrien County Building and Grounds Department is seeking bids for BC Jail and Courthouse MEP upgrades. Please note that if you have previously filled out the Affidavit of Compliance for the year 2024 it is not necessary to send another one. A certified check or bank draft drawn on a solvent bank in the State of Michigan payable without condition to Berrien County of Michigan or a satisfactory BID bond executed by the BIDDER and a surety company, in an amount equal to 5 percent (5%) of the BID shall be submitted with each WORK PACKAGE BID over $100,000. The successful BIDDER will be required to furnish a satisfactory performance bond and payment bond in the amount of 100 percent (100%) of the contract price, for all projects over $50,000. Owner Rights: The County of Berrien reserves the right to reject any or all BID PROPOSALs, to waive any informalities or irregularities therein, to accept proposals other than the low BID, and to otherwise act as deemed to be in their best interest. In addition, the BIDDER recognizes the right of the OWNER to reject an individual BID. The OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE shall have the right to reject materials and workmanship which are defective or require their correction. Rejected workmanship shall be satisfactorily corrected and rejected materials shall be removed from the premises without charge to the OWNER. If the CONTRACTOR does not correct such condemned Work and remove rejected materials within a reasonable time, corrected by written notice, the OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE may remove them and charge the expense to the CONTRACTOR. The purpose of the meeting is to answer questions and provide a tour of the project site. The OWNER and OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE will be available to assist the BIDDERS. BIDDERS needing special services to fully participate in the meeting, or who are unable to attend, shall contact the OWNER at the above location. Additional pre-bid meetings may be scheduled at the discretion of the OWNER. The CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, including project manual, plans, and SPECIFICATIONS, must be obtained (downloaded electronically) prior to the mandatory PRE-BID meeting by downloading the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS from The Builder's Exchange, or directly from Bacchiocchi Construction Services, Inc. Neither the OWNER nor the OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE will be responsible for partial sets of documents obtained from any other source.
