This project consists of removing and replacing one (1) - eight-inch gate valve, two (2) - six-inch gate valves, forty (40) linear feet of 8-inch ductile iron pipe, and forty (40) linear feet of 6-inch ductile iron pipe. This project is being let as a "No-Plans" bid. Paved Areas: Primary and arterial collector roadways within the City shall be repaired with a minimum of 8" VDOT #21A aggregate base, 6" BM-25A binder asphalt, and 2" SM-9.5A surface asphalt. Secondary and residential roadways shall be repaired with a minimum 12" VDOT #21A aggregate base, 4" BM-25A binder asphalt, and 2" SM-9.5A surface asphalt. Asphalt materials shall conform to VDOT R&B Sect. 211. Should the existing asphalt pavement section exceed the depths cited herein, it shall be replaced in like kind. Roadway patches shall be a min. 12" wider (on each side) than the trench walls. Sidewalks, curbs, concrete pavements, asphalt trails, etc. shall be replaced in like kind. The water main and valves are approximately eighty-four (84) inches deep. Existing valves encased in concrete. Contractor to provide traffic control. Each proposal greater than $100,000 shall be accompanied by a bidder's bond or a certified check of five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid. The Contractor shall have sixty (60) calendar days from "Notice to Proceed" to complete the project. Liquidated damages are established at $350.00/day. Contractor's License: If any of the services promulgated under this solicitation consist of construction work, it is required under Title 54.1, Chapter 11, Code of Virginia for a contractor who performs or manages construction, removal, repair, or improvements when the total value referred to in a single contract or project is: One hundred twenty thousand dollars ($120,000) or more, or the total value of all such construction, removal, repair, or improvements undertaken by such person within any twelve-month period is seven hundred fifty thousand dollars ($750,000) or more shall show evidence of being licensed
