As of August 28, 2024, this project has been completed. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: Questions that arise as a result of this Request for Proposals must be submitted in writing to the Office of Facilities Management & Planning, attention Executive Director. Requests for clarification must be received by Wednesday, January 31st, 2024 by 1:00PM local time. GRPS reserves the right to reject any and all submittals, in whole or in part, received as a result of this Request for Proposals. GRPS issues this RFP in its process to obtain Playground Design and Construction services for the renovation of the Coit School Playground. Renovating the Coit School Playground is one of several projects included in the GRPS Master Plan. Playground designs must meet all current safety and ADA accessibility requirements as designated by the State of Michigan. Coit houses an International Baccalaureate certified Fine Arts focused school. The grade levels served include PreK through 5th grade with the potential for a future 6th grade. The building currently includes (2) Special Education classrooms and (2) PreK classrooms. The playgrounds currently serve approximately (110) scholars at recess during any given recess period. One of the goals of this renovation and replacement is to increase the capacity of the playground to serve (140) scholars at any given recess period. The projected scholar population for the building is around (330) scholars from PreK-5th grade. The projected budget for this project is approximately $200,000 for equipment and $200,000 for surfacing and site work. Successful completion of this project will include the following work. Construction must be completed while the building is unoccupied. Allotted Construction Time will be approximately June 10, 2024-August 1, 2024. Work must be scheduled for the week immediately following the last day of school in the spring and must be completed more than (2) weeks before school begins in the fall. Successful completion of the project includes completion of Punch List items as required prior to Owner acceptance. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
