JW Smith Admin Building Roof Replacement project. - The Clayton County Water Authority (CCWA) intends to contract with an experienced licensed contractor for services related to the removal and replacement of the existing built-up roof system for the J W Smith Water Production Plant Administration and Filter Building. Specifications herein describe the work to be completed under this contract. Any bids received after the specified time will not be considered. A. The Work of this Contract is located at the J. W. Smith Water Production Plant located at 82 Northbridge Road, Hampton, Georgia 30228. The water production plant is owned by the Clayton County Water Authority (Owner), headquartered in Morrow, Georgia. Bidders may ask questions regarding this Contract prior to the bid opening. To be considered, all questions must be received in writing, via email to CCWA_Procurement@ccwa.us by 2:00 p.m. (local time) on Thursday, February 22, 2024. CCWA encourages Small Local, Minority and Women-Owned businesses to participate and respond to this bid request. Scope of Work A. The Work to be performed under this Contract shall include, but is not necessarily limited to, constructing the Work described below and all appurtenances related to the Work. The Work shall be as follows: 1. Install temporary protective covering over the filter basins and remove the existing built-up roofing system over the concrete roof deck; 2. Replace existing built-up roof system with a new modified bituminous membrane roofing system inclusive of insulation, a roofing membrane over insulation with stone ballast, base flashing, cap flashing, vapor barrier, roofing cant strips, roofing expansion joints, and associated appurtenances; and 3. Install walkway pads (walkboards) on the working side of rooftop HVAC units and appurtenances as required by these Specifications.
