Reference Number : 1848630 Health Canada operates a laboratory in the Longueuil region. The operation of this laboratory generates various hazardous materials whose elimination and destruction are regulated by federal, provincial and municipal laws. Health Canada intends to comply with all current and proposed legislation regarding the tracking, production, packaging, collection, transportation, disposal and/or incineration of hazardous materials and thus than to improve the safety and efficiency of the management of this waste. Health Canada requires the services of a qualified service provider for the collection, packaging, tracking, transportation and disposal of hazardous materials including solvents, chemical and pharmaceutical waste. See Appendix A for reference. Waste hazardous materials will be identified in the form of an inventory and segregated by Health Canada personnel in the opinion of the service provider, in accordance with the Transportation of Hazardous Materials Regulations and other provincial and/or municipal regulations. The service provider must group and package the waste for transport in a location identified by Health Canada, near the loading dock. The service provider will be responsible for completing all documentation required for transportation regulations. Waste materials can vary in terms of material type, and frequency of production.
