Bidder Shall Submit With the Bid a Certified Check, Cashier's Check or Bid Bond in the Amount of Ten Percent (10%) of the Total Price Bid, but Not in Excess of $20,000, Payable Unconditionally to Berkeley Township Municipal Utilities Authority, Along With a Certificate (Consent of Surety) With Power of Attorney for Full Amount of Bid Price From a Surety Company Authorized to Do Business in the State of New Jersey and That Said Surety Will Furnish a Performance Bond in the Amount of 100% of Successful Bidder's Contract. Work to be done under this contract shall consist of emergency repairs and/or replacements of all sizes ofwater system mains on an as needed basis. Repairs shall include excavation, removal/repair/replacement ofsystem components, backfilling, temporary and permanent restoration and cleanup. The contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, tools, materials, safety equipment and supplies required to complete the repair. All work shall be completed to satisfaction of the Authority Engineer, or his designee. The contract shall be renewable for, one 12 month extension for a total contract of 24 months, should the Authority choose to do so. The Authority's water system consists of 4" thru 20" mains comprised of cement lined ductile iron pipe. Service connections are 5/8 - 6". There is in excess of 75 miles oftotal mains at an approximate depth between 3 and 6 feet. There are approximately 600 fire hydrants in the system
