**As of April 8, 2024, the project was awarded to Northeast Asphalt, Inc, 1524 Atkinson Dr. Green Bay, WI 54303 and the amount was $919,384.10.** the Town of Crescent is accepting sealed bids for a reconstruction project on South River Road. A walk-thru of the project should be scheduled by calling Robb Jensen at 920-602-0561. The Town reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids. Bids may be sent to: Town of Town of Crescent clerk, Tracy Hartman, Clerk, 6902 Fire Tower Road, Rhinelander, WI 54501. Goals: 1) Prepare road for 20' wide pavement with 1' HMA shoulder and 1' 3/4 " dense grade base shoulder. All work to be done within 24' existing foot print. 2) All work and materials are to meet the requirements of these specifications and WI DOT Specifications (2022 edition) and WI DOT Special Provisions Performance Based Maintenance 2023. Proposed work: 1) Traffic Control: Road Closed Local Traffic Only. Any required flagging operations supplied by contractor. 2) Culvert Pipe: Install according to WisDOT Specifications at attached locations, diameters, lengths and type of pipe. All pipe included in listing will be replaced with 18" plastic pipe between 40' and 42' long. Pipe length will be verified with field measurements by contractor. Distance for pipe location is in feet from USH 8 heading south. 1.) 1,081 feet 2.) 1,504 feet 3.) 2,594 feet 4.) 4,518 feet 5.) 6,994 feet 6.) 8,442 feet 7.) 17,952 feet 3) Added dense graded base before pulverizing: a) 22 tons per 100' station at 20' wide at a nominal 3" depth. b) Shape and compact prior to pulverizing. c) Make sure edge of pavement on both sides of existing pavement is exposed for pulverizing. d) WisDOT 3/4 " or 1 1/4" Dense Grade Base is acceptable. 4) Pulverizing Contractor is responsible to verify depth of existing asphalt for South River Road. Pulverize the full depth of the existing asphaltic pavement and added dense grade base until 97 percent or more will pass the 1 1/2-inch sieve. Pulverizing shell be minimum of 22' wide. Contractor is responsible for traffic control, road closure notifications, any detours and obtaining any permits. Pulverized material will be graded, watered, compacted to .05" to finished grade for HMA pavement 5) Hot Mix Asphalt produce, hauled and place in accordance to WisDOT Specifications. a) One lift 2.5" of 4LT or better PG58-28S oil. b) Shaping for pavement is incidental to HMA paving. c) Saw cutting and installation of HMA driveways and side roads are incidental to HMA paving unit price. d) 1' HMA shoulder included in pavement item 6) Gravel Shoulders a) Material to meet WisDOT Specification for 3/4 " Dense Grade Base. b) Both shoulders should be 1 foot wide with a nominal depth of 2.5". c) Shoulder shall be place with a shouldering machine. d) Installation of gravel driveways and side roads are incidental to shouldering unit price. e) 1' HMA shoulder included in pavement item. 7) Move and re-install mailboxes as needed to accommodate the construction process while allowing for mail delivery during construction. Payment: Payment will be based on unit prices listed in the Bidding Proposal Schedule. Payments will not exceed total for each bid item.
