Alexander Hamilton Elementary School Soil Remediation The bid includes but may not be limited to: excavation and offsite disposal of historic fill materials, removal and replacement of existing trees, landscaping and signs, installation of a demarcation geotextile, installation of a new soil cap, soil and erosion control, restoration with new landscaping and trees, and other miscellaneous activities. The project is scheduled to begin July 8, 2024, and shall be completed not later than July 26, 2024. The bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond in an amount not less than 10% of the Base Bid, but in no case more than $20,000, Certificate of Consent of Surety that a Performance and Payment Bond will be provided, Non-Collusion Affidavit, Disclosure Statement, Evidence of Performance Security for Subcontractors, and proof of minimum insurance liability limits along with all other requested documents as outlined in the Bid Specifications. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond for the completion of the contract issued by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey. Bids may not be modified after submission. Bidders may withdraw bids at any time prior to the opening date and time. Once opened, no bids may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days from the date of opening. Bids must be prepared and submitted on the Bid Form enclosed in the bid specifications package, in accordance with the "Instructions to Bidders" and N.J.S.A. 18A:18A et seq. (Public School Contracts Law). Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of Chapter 127, P.L. 1975 (N.J.A.C. 17:27, Public Contracts Affirmative Action Law), the requirements of Chapter 238, P.L. 1999 (Public Works Contractor Registration Act), Chapter 150, P.L. 1963 (Prevailing Wage Act), and with any and all other applicable Federal and New Jersey statutes and regulations. Bidders must provide evidence of prequalification by the State of New Jersey, Division of Building and Construction in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-26. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-2(s), (t), (x), (y), 18A:18A-4(a), 18A:18A-22, and to waive any informalities. The work to be performed under this Contract consists of furnishing all materials, equipment, supplies, labor, supervision, transportation, fuel, power, water, except materials, equipment, utility service, if any, specified herein to be furnished by the Owner/Representative, and the performance of all work in strict accordance with the specifications, schedules, and plans. The Contractor is responsible for the field verification of all material quantities and conditions affecting the work. The work shall be complete, and all work, material and services not expressly called for in the specifications or not shown on the drawings, which may be necessary for complete and proper construction to carry out the Contract in good faith, shall be performed, furnished, and installed by the Contractor at no increase in cost to the Owner/Representative. Qualified, careful, and efficient certified workmen shall execute the work in the best and most workmanlike manner. This work shall consist of clearing and grubbing the site area of all signage (retain for reinstallation), trees and their associated stumps and roots, miscellaneous vegetation, and designated fencing as indicated on the plans by the limits of disturbance in preparation for construction operations, if any.
