2024 LED Street Lighting Improvements - Phase I The General Work Requested is: the Removal of Existing Lighting Units and Installation of New Lighing Units Per the Installation and Special Provision Guidelines, Installation of Other Electrical Appurtenances, Etc.; Located at: Rg1515236321a - Street Lighting Improvements/upgrades @ Various Locations (City Wide). Time for Completion: All work on this contract shall be completed by August 2, 2024. Any questions regarding the design of the lighting system are to be directed to Street Lighting Engineering. Contact Mr. Eng-Kie Lee at (414) 286-2174. Liquidated Damages, per diem: $500.00/Day Contractor is to contact Street Lighting field office, Steve Rhoda at (414) 286-5942 / office (414) 708-4251 / cell or Neal Karweik (414) 286-5943 / office (414) 708-4245 / cell to arrange daily Inspection of work quality and installed material quantity. No item will be paid without a signed inspection report from Street Lighting field office. An inspectional charge to the contractor will be assessed if the number of workdays for the overall contract exceeds the amount allotted. 7. Within ten (10) business days of the award of this contract, the contractor shall mail a notice of the project to the City of Milwaukee Construction Section at 841 N. Broadway, Room 710, Milwaukee, WI 53202 for review and approval. Within five (5) business days of approval, the contractor shall mail the project notice to all affected area residents and businesses. It shall be the sole responsibility of the contractor to ensure that all notices are conveyed to the public regarding this project. A sample notice is included in the contract documents. Contract work shall not start prior to completing the notice requirement. Any delay in contract completion as a result of non-compliance shall be the responsibility of the contractor. 8. The Contractor shall post City of Milwaukee Project Identification ("BLUE") signs as directed on each project in this contract. The City will provide blank signs for the contractor to fill in contact information and post. The entire cost of this work shall be included in the unit price bid for mobilization. The contractor shall inform Tianne Hardman of City Sign Shop (414)286-5967/ of any City Signs knocked or taken down by the paving contractors or their sub-contractors during construction. 9. Vehicular traffic shall be maintained at all times and traffic control practice and method shall conform with latest MUTCD. The residency requirement for this project is 40% of all hours worked on the project. One quarter of these hours must be attributable to residents living in the following zip codes: 53204, 53205, 53206, 53208, 53210, 53215, and 53233. The SBE requirement for this project is 25% of the contract base bid. The SBE Compliance Plan (Form A) must be submitted with the bid and is an element of bid responsiveness. SBE certificates must be submitted with the Form A. Incomplete SBE Compliance Plans (Form A)or inaccurate SBE Compliance Plans will not be accepted and will render the bid unresponsive. If there are any questions regarding SBE firms, please contact the OEI office at 414-286-5553. Bid Security Required: Bond, Certified Check, Cashier's Check or Cash to accompany bid: 10% of the Contractor's Base Bid. For those bids being submitted through Bid Express and using a manual Bond, the contractor may send a signed/executed copy of the bid bond to the Department of Public Works Contract Office by emailing DPWbids@milwaukee.gov. All Contractors awarded a contract valued at $25,000.00 or more are required to participate in training on the City of Milwaukee's B2GNow contract compliance software within 30 days of the contract award date.
