Renovation of an educational facility in Honolulu, Hawaii. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The project shall in general consist of, but is not limited to interior classroom renovation work. The work includes selective demolition, hazardous materials removal, metal fabrication, carpentry, firestopping, gypsum board installation, doors and windows, acoustical ceilings, painting, visual display boards, protection screens, roller shades, interior electrical distribution systems, wiring devices, feeders and branch circuits, interior lighting, telecommunications and audiovisual system pathways, and fire alarm system modifications, as called for in the Plans and Technical Specifications. Requests for substitutions regarding the IFB and its requirements, must be submitted to the Technical Representative of the Procurement Officer (TRPO), Hiram Pajo via E-mail at hpajo@hawaii.edu no later than 4:00 p.m. (HST) on February 8, 2024. To be eligible to bid, bidders must possess a valid State of Hawaii Contractor's license B. BIDS FROM CONTRACTORS NOT LICENSED IN THE STATE OF HAWAII WILL NOT BECONSIDERED. In addition, bidders must either possess or list Subcontractors who possess specialty contractor licenses for the specialty work required for this project. The bidder shall be solely responsible for insuring that all specialty licenses required to complete the project are covered in its bid. Failure to list all required subcontractors may be grounds for disqualification. The University reserves the right at any time, if additional funds are available, to add additional work to the project scope during construction. The work may include, but is not limited to new work, repairs, upgrades, and demolition. Any additional work will generally be within the Project limits. If the Contractor fails to complete the work or any portion of the work within the time or times fixed in the contract or any extension thereof, the Contractor shall pay to the University $ 500.00 per each calendar day of delay. The liquidated damages constitute a reasonable estimate of the actual damages to be incurred by the University and are not meant to be a penalty In accordance with Section 103D-323, Hawaii Revised Statutes, this proposal is accompanied with a bid security in the amount of 5% of the total amount proposed. The Bidder shall use the attached Surety Bid Bond form. If the Bidder elects to use other acceptable forms of security listed in Section 2.8 of the General Provisions, the Bidder shall deposit the bid security with the Facilities Business Office prior to the bid due date.
