The work on this project consists of the complete demolition of a one (1) three-story building, connected to a two-story building by a walkway on the second floor, located on Block 363, Lot 38 at 230 Grove Street in the Township of Bloomfield, Essex County, New Jersey. The demolition of the structure shall include the complete removal and disposal of the building and all miscellaneous debris on the subject property as identified and described within these specifications. In addition, effective August 1, 2005, P.L. 2005, c.67 authorized a new form of change order called Value Engineering Construction Change Orders for certain construction contracts. Township of Bloomfield intends to award this Project to the lowest responsive and responsible Bidder whose Bid Packet complies with its requirements for the Project, provided that in the judgment of Township of Bloomfield is reasonable, within available funds and in the interest of Township of Bloomfield. Township of Bloomfield reserves the right to reject any and all Bid Packets to the extent permitted by law. An award will be made, or Bid Packets will be rejected within sixty (60) Calendar Days after the opening of the Bid Packets, during which time the Bid Packets shall be irrevocable and unavailable to withdraw by Bidders, unless otherwise extended in the Contract Documents.
