Vannoy Construction has been selected as the Construction Manager by Buncombe County School Board and is seeking to pre-qualify Contractors to submit bids for furnishing labor, materials, tools & equipment for the PEP Classroom Addition to W.W. Estes Elementary School in Asheville, North Carolina. DESCRIPTION: This project consists of the construction of a new special education classroom addition to the existing Estes Elementary School Campus. The new addition consists of approximately 2,500 SF of new space with some minor selective demolition, modifications & repairs to the existing building to facilitate the new addition. As part of this project, there is some site development work & a new remote playground area. Construction activities are expected to start in June of 2024. This project includes minor select demolition & structural modifications at the transition line of the new addition at existing building to accommodate the new addition along with some existing MEP modifications as required. The new addition building structure is to be built utilizing structural steel frame, metal decking, concrete foundations and slabs, CMU block masonry, with metal stud framed infill areas. Envelope to be fluted CMU, aluminum storefront, EFIS & membrane roofing. Finishes include carpet & resilient flooring, ACT, paint, and laminate casework with phenolic core & laminate countertops, white boards, tack strips & window treatments.
