Reference Number 0000263441 Question Acceptance Deadline 23-Feb-2024 04:00:00 PM EST Metrolinx requires a list of prequalified Civil Work Vendors to perform the necessary Infrastructure and construction related activities across various locations in and around the GTHA as described in the Section B2 of this Appendix B. PRESTO is a division of Metrolinx and also the name of an automated fare collection system that allows customers, using a single contactless fare card, to access eleven (11) transit systems in the Greater Toronto, Hamilton and Ottawa areas that provide multiple modes of transit (e.g. buses, subways, trains). PRESTO's mandate is to increase transit ridership and operational efficiency, improve the customer experience, and support the increasing demand for intra and inter regional transit integration through the use of a single fare medium. The PRESTO solution depends on both hardware and software components. As part of this tender, Metrolinx is seeking to prequalify a list of vendors to perform all Civil related Works activities required to install, remove, change and modify the PRESTO fare payment equipment (hardware) and infrastructures PRESTO has to achieve its mandate at one or various sites. Each site is unique and would require a Site Assessment to determine exact scope of work and feasibility. For example, GO transit has recently requested the Civil Works to accommodate the installation of 370 Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs). GO Transit provides a couple of options on device placement and the team goes onsite to perform a Site Assessment. The Site Assessment evaluates length of power run, electrical panel space, communication run, if trenching is required, floor work required, etc. Once the work plan is completed and approved, the work can commence. 1) Commercial general liability insurance in an amount of not less than ten million dollars ($10,000,000) inclusive per occurrence for bodily injury, death and damage to property, including loss of use; 2) Automobile Liability Insurance for owned and non- owned vehicles in an amount of not less than five million dollars ($5,000,000.00) per occurrence; 3) Contractors Equipment that covers construction machinery and equipment used by the contractor for the performance of the work on the Project, including boiler insurance on temporary boilers and pressure vessels; and 4) All Risks Property Insurance in an amount equal to the total contract price of a Stage 2 procurement process (to be determined) and with a deductible in an amount of not more than ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00. Metrolinx reserves the right to reject any or all Submissions at its sole discretion.
