Project Specific Scope of Work A. Hyatt Park: a. Includes demolition of current concrete seat bleachers and installing new seat wall bleachers. b. Contractor is responsible for field staking all construction elements c. Score board building demolition d. Contractor shall provide shop drawings of all fence design details for review and approval e. Design and installation of a new playground f. Design shall be provided to the City's Project Manager for review and approval B. TS Martin Park: a. Install baseball fencing at an increased height to allow adult play b. Install four (4) new bleachers around baseball fields c. Contractor shall provide shop drawings of all fence design details for review and approval It is the goal of the City of Columbia, SC to maximize opportunities for historically Disadvantaged Enterprise Businesses (DBEs) including, but not limited to, Small Businesses (SBEs), Minority Businesses (MBEs), Women-Owned Businesses (WBEs). The City has implemented an overall citywide 15% goal to encourage socially and economically disadvantaged business participation. In an effort to encourage socially and economically disadvantaged business participation, this goal extends to Bidders, Offerors, Subcontractors and suppliers on its procurement and contracting offerings. Simultaneously with his delivery of the executed contract, the contractor shall furnish a surety bond or bonds in an amount at least equal to one hundred (100) percent of the amount of the contract price as security for the faithful performance of this contract and for payment of all persons performing labor on the project under this contract and furnishing materials in connection with this contract as specified in general specifications included herein. The surety bond, or bonds shall be executed by a company duly authorized to do business in the State of South Carolina and shall carry a minimum A.M Best Company rating of A- or greater. Said surety shall be subject to approval by the Owner's attorney. Said surety shall be subject to approval by the Owner's attorney. Bidder must agree to commence work on or before a date to be specified in a written "Notice to Proceed" from the Owner and to fully complete the project within the number of consecutive calendar days thereafter as indicated on the Bid Form. Bidder must agree to pay as liquidated damages the sum of $250.00 per day as indicated in the Contract Documents for each consecutive day thereafter that the work remains incomplete. All Offerors must provide a copy of their South Carolina Contractors License with the bid and shall have the required classification for the scope of work. The Contractor, an employee of the Contractor, or a Subcontractor for the Contractor shall be a Certified Playground Safety Inspector. Question Deadline 02/09/2024 at 12:00 PM ET Questions must be submitted to electronically. A masterplan was created in 2016 for the revitalization of the entire 9 1/2 acres. Parks and Recreation would like install baseball fencing at an increased height to allow adult play on the fields, along with new bleachers around the baseball fields. The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) is funding this project and work must be completed by June 30, 2024. In addition to this deadline, all CDBG guidelines will need to be carefully reviewed for proper project implementation. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject the qualifications of any bonding company submitted by the Contractor. The budget range for the combined projects is $315,000.00 - $355,000.00. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
