Pender County Schools is accepting written proposals from qualified firms to provide basic landscaping, grass cutting, and grounds maintenance for 15 school campuses. The contract will run through the normal growing season (April 1-Oct 31). Question Deadline 02/06/2024 at 2:00 PM ET The selected bidder(s) will be notified by phone no later than March 12, 2024. All bids submitted in response to this RFP must remain for ninety (90) days following the bid opening. PCS reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any informality in bids and, unless otherwise specified by the bidder, to accept any item in the bid. If either a unit price or extended price is obviously in error and the other is obviously correct, the incorrect price will be disregarded. Proposed Term: The proposed term of the contract is April 1, 2024 through October 31, 2024. The contract may be renewed for 2025 and 2026 by mutual agreement of Pender County Schools and the selected contractor/s. Pender County Schools reserves the right to rebid the contract at the end of any contract period. The contract must be rebid after the 2026 contract period expires. Scope of Work: All turf areas will be cut every two weeks during the slow growth months of April, May, and June, and weekly during the fast growth months of July, August, September, and October. Weedeat and trim around all facilities and permanent fixtures. Blow cuttings off all paved/concrete areas after mowing. Edge sidewalks once per month. Maintain all school entrance beddings. Additional cuts may be requested if needed to maintain a neat and uniform appearance including trim work. The lawn is defined as the area between the planting areas and paved areas and/or the area between buildings and the paved areas. This includes traffic islands, areas around retention ponds, and fences. Athletic fields, shrubbery and other plantings are NOT included in the contract. Pope Elementary School and Burgaw Middle School. Alternate 1: Bid to include only the following schools: Surf City Elementary/Middle School, North Topsail Elementary School, Topsail Annandale Elementary School, Topsail Middle School, Topsail High School, South Topsail Elementary School, Rocky Point Elementary School and Heide Trask High School. Alternate 2: Bid to include only the following Schools: Cape Fear Elementary/Middle School, Malpass Corner Elementary School, West Pender Middle School, Penderlea School, Pender High School, C.F. Pope Elementary School and Burgaw Middle School.
