** As of April 23, 2024 the project has been awarded to Panhandle Paving & Grading, Inc. with an awarded amount of $560,860.58. ** The project consists of the installation of Stormwater infrastructure, curb and gutter, and milling and resurfacing along approximately 800' of Renee Terrace located in southwest Escambia County. The County will provide private property rights of entry for locations depicted in the plans. Other project elements include earthwork, sodding, and erosion control according to the County specifications and plans Background Escambia County staff has been receiving and investigating drainage complaints in the southeast portion of Renee Terrace for more than a decade. With no positive drainage and unfavorable contours, several homes have flooded in the past from moderate to heavy rain events. With further development in the southwest portion of Renee Terrace, the flooding issues have become more problematic. Another concern in the area is the standing water after rain events. This has resulted in Escambia County staff (Public Works Department and the Fire Department) spending numerous man hours pumping the standing water to the bay.
