Site work and renovation of a playground / park / athletic field in Raleigh, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a playground / park / athletic field; and for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.
The City of Raleigh (COR) Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources is solicitating bids from one or more firm(s) with which to contract for the following services: Buffaloe Road Athletic Park Field 1-3 Renovation Questions due by Feb 12, 2024 @ 2:00 pm Fence Demolition o Contractor to remove existing sideline, dugout, backstop fabric, rails, fittings, etc. All posts to remain. City of Raleigh will make minor repairs to finish on posts prior to installation of new materials. o Dispose of materials off premises. Concrete Ribbon Curb Installation o Ribbon curb extends from outfield corner to outfield corner, ~ 440 LF o Ribbon curb to be 15" wide x 12" deep o Spoils from excavation to be collected and can de disposed of on-site, per COR staff direction. o Base of excacated area to be tamped for compaction prior to installation of concrete footing. Areas where excavation exceeds 12" depth should be backfilled with ABC and tamped for compaction. o Existing fence footings should be worked around carefully to ensure integrity of footing is not compromised durign excavation. Make needed repairs prior to concrete curb installtion. o Concrete - Work with COR staff to establish elevations for finished height of concrete. - 3000 psi mix - 2 lbs. microfiber/CY - Broom finish w/ control joints spaced evenly, not to exceed 8' OC - Allow 5 day curing period prior to any additional installation work. Fence Installation o Contractor to install new top rail, brace pipe, fabric, coil wire, and all other necessary fittings to complete installation. o Contractor to adjust existing cantilever gates to ensure safe operation. Make needed adjustments to rollers and guides. Replace as needed. o Contractor to replace fabric on existing dugout gate frames. Weld hinge collar to support bulldog hinge use. Replace fork latch with new. - Sidelines (begin at backstop post and extend to intersection with outfield fence) o Install approx. 330 LF, 8' black coated chain link fabric o 8 gauge finish, 9 gauge core, fused/bonded o Install approx. 60 LF, 8' black coated chain link fabric o 5 gauge finish, 6 gauge core, fused/bonded. o Secure fabric as detailed in general guidelines. - Dugouts o Install mid and bottom rail on all sides of dugout. o Install approx. 50 LF, 8' 8 gauge chain link fabric (sides and back of o dugout) o 8 gauge finish, 9 gauge core, fused/bonded o Secure fabric as detailed in general guidelines. - Backstop o Install approx. 56 LF, 10' high 5 gauge black coated chain linf fabric (bottom section) o 5 gauge finish, 6 gauge core, fused/bonded. o Install approx. 56 LF, 10' high 8 gauge black coated chain link fabric (top section) o 8 gauge finish, 9 gauge core, fused/bonded o Install 1 5/8" brace pipe with maximum spacing of 5'. o Install additional 1 5/8" brace pipe at 18" above finished grade of ribbon curb. o Secure fabric as detailed in general guidelines. o Inspect existing overhang o Truss rods secured o Fabric ties secured' o Overhang to backstop connections secured - Outfield o Approx. 355 LF o Contractor to make needed repairs to secure fabric with specified fabric ties and hog rings.
