As of June 5, 2025, general contractors have been awarded and construction is underway or completed for various projects. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: This office is currently in the process of securing consulting services for the subject Water Main Replacement projects in the City of Trotwood, the City of Kettering and Washington Township, Montgomery County, Ohio. The intent of these projects is to replace aging water mains in various streets in Washington Township, Trotwood, and Kettering, Ohio. The Montgomery County Environmental Services Department is requesting qualifications to provide engineering services including field surveying, base mapping, easement preparation and acquisition, detailed design, and construction services for a water main replacement project. The project is located along Rahn Road from Kingsley Park Drive to Mad River Road, Camella Place and Silbury Lane, south of Rahn Road in Washington Township, Montgomery County, Ohio(see Location Map). A summary of estimated man hours is required, but no cost proposal should be submitted. Costs will be negotiated once a Consultant is selected. Please be advised that the Countys legal advisor has informed us that all qualification statements received are considered public documents once the Board of County Commissioners passes a resolution authorizing execution of an agreement with the recommended firm. It is the intent of Environmental Services to shortlist the qualification statements and interview up to five (4) responding consultants. 1. Consultant Services kick-off - March 2024. 2. Begin Field Work - April 2024. 3. 30% Design Complete - July 2024. 4. 60% Design Complete - September 2024. 5. 90% Design Complete - November 2024. 6. Final design approved, proceed to bidding -December 2024 The replacement main will be located within the right-of-way, if possible (see Vicinity Map). The project will include the associated water main appurtenances, side street tie-ins, water service reconnections, abandonment or possible removal of the existing main, and restoration. The project will consist of: A. Replacement of approximately 2,400 LF of existing 6" water main with new 8" water main and appurtenances. B. Reconnection of side street mains and approximately 21 service lines to the new 8" main. It is anticipated that all improvements will be included in a single construction contract All questions shall be submitted, in writing, to Barb Asberry (asberryb@mcohio.org) at the Montgomery County Purchasing Department. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
