Site work and renovation of a municipal facility in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.
The Existing Building Improvements includes the furnishing of labor and new materials for select building maintenance and repair items including the following; roof drain cleaning, tree trimming, partial roof replacement, select steel cleaning and painting, masonry wall repair, weep and vent installation, and coating application, as well as sealant removal and replacements, select drywall repair, and door and window replacements at the MIDAS Council of Governments Office and Shop Building located at 602 1st Ave South in Fort Iowa. Each Bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security as defined in Iowa Code Section 26.8, as security that the successful Bidder will enter into a Contract for the work bid upon and will furnish after the award of Contract a corporate Surety Bond, in a form acceptable to MIDAS Council of Governments, for the faithful performance of the Contract, in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the Contract. The Bidder's security shall be in the amount fixed in the Instructions to Bidders and shall be in the form of a cashier's check or a certified check drawn on an FDIC insured bank in Iowa or on an FDIC insured bank chartered under the laws of the United States. Each successful Bidder will be required to furnish a corporate Surety Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of its Contract price. Said Bond shall be issued by a responsible Surety approved by MIDAS Council of Governments and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the Contract and the terms and conditions therein contained and shall guarantee the prompt payment of all material and labor, and protect and save harmless MIDAS Council of Governments from claims and damages of any kind caused by the operations of the Contract and shall also guarantee the maintenance of the improvement caused by failures in materials and construction for a period of two (2) years from and after substantial completion. Bidders shall submit questions in writing to the engineer a minimum of 10 days prior to bid to allow for a response. The Notice to Proceed is anticipated to be issued after execution of contract documents, bond, and insurance submittals. The Contractor shall have the project substantially complete by August 29, 2025. Substantially complete shall be defined as all work items listed in the documents complete with the owner ready to move back in to all areas with all items within the plans and specifications fully installed and operational with all improvements being ready for final acceptance and final walkthrough punchlist. The Contractor shall fully complete the project by September 30, 2025. Fully complete shall be defined as all items within the plans and specifications are fully installed and operational with all punch list items created by the design team and owner completed. MIDAS Council of Governments does hereby reserve the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract, or contracts, as it shall deem to be in the best interest of MIDAS Council of Governments.
