Project Commercial Street (Route 140) at Walnut Street Improvements. Estimated Cost $5,755,330 The proposed transportation improvement project includes a roadway reconstruction of approximately 1,800 feet along Commercial Street (Route 140) and approximately 300 feet along each leg of Walnut Street. Improvements will also include sidewalk reconstruction, installation of a fully-actuated traffic signals, widening and reconstruction of roadwork, reconfiguration of the Commercial Street northbound approach between the I-95 Southbound Ramps and Walnut Street, construction of pedestrian crossings and ADA-compliant curb ramps, installation of push button actuated pedestrian traffic signals, installation of new traffic signal, modifications to the existing drainage system, HMA sidewalk construction, pavement milling and overlay, full depth pavement reconstruction, pavement markings, and signs. The work includes earth excavation, Superpave asphalt pavement, cement concrete ramps, granite curbing and edging, drainage structures and pipe, traffic signals, landscaping, tree protection, Massachusetts Certified Arborist services, and other incidental work. The limit of work is defined on the approved construction plans. All work outside of the limit of work disturbed by the contractor's operations shall be restored to their original conditions at the contractor's expense.
