Winona State University (WSU) is designing and building the Center for Interdisciplinary Collaboration, Engagement & Learning (CICEL) to replace the outdated Gildemeister and Watkins Halls with a new 73,000 SF building and greenspace from the reduced building footprint. The new building will create modern learning spaces to support combined practices of science, art, design, and technology. It will provide learning spaces, studio spaces, student support spaces, and faculty workspaces to encourage innovation, creativity, collaboration, and experimentation that are flexible and adaptable to meet future needs. CICEL will be the first net zero energy facility in the Minnesota State System, to exemplify Winona State University's leadership in sustainability and resiliency.
