Site work for a water / sewer project in Beaumont, California. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The work consists of well pumping unit rehabilitation at two (2) District well sites. The sites are located within the District's Service Area and are specifically located in the Community of Cherry Valley. Well No. 18 is located in Edgar Canyon in the District's Upper Well Field (North of Wildwood Canyon Rd. off of Oak Glen Rd.) is further detailed in Appendix "D" of the complete bid package. The Well 18 site will require site specific work related to components of well pumping unit repair and or replacement and well rehabilitation. Well No. 21 is located at 11083 Cherry St. in Cherry Valley is further detailed in Appendix "D" of the complete bid package. The Well 21 site will require site specific work related to components of well pumping unit repair and or replacement and well rehabilitation. The work shall be performed by a single contractor under a single contract. Prevailing wages will be in effect for this work and costs must be in compliance with State Labor Code as listed in the project agreement. Bidders shall be licensed in accordance with provisions of Chapter 9, Division 3, of the Business and Professional Code of the State of California on the date and at the time of submittal of the Bid. Required classifications are: Class A, General Engineering; and/or C-57, Well Drilling. Bidders shall have verifiable experience in similar work. Bidders and their sub-contractors shall also be registered to perform public work pursuant to Section 4104 of the public contract code with the State of California, Department of Industrial Relations. Bidders must comply with and agree to all instructions and requirements in this notice and in the Request for Bid. All Bids must be submitted on the Prescribed Bid Form. The successful Bidder shall furnish insurance in accordance with the Request for Bid before execution of the Contract Agreement. A pre bid tour of the project site may be arranged with the District's Director of Operations, James Bean. Do not proceed directly to the project sites. Owner Rights: Owner reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, to waive any irregularity, or to award a Contract to other than the lowest bidder. If Owner elects to award a contract for the Work, the award will be made within 30 days from the date of the bid opening. Bids shall be valid for said 30 day period Contractor shall furnish a performance bond in the amount of the full contract price, a payment bond in the amount of 50% of the full contract price, and a maintenance bond in the amount of the full contract price issued in forms consistent with industry standards by United States Treasury authorized bonding companies as approved by District, prior to commencement of the Work. The guarantees, indemnifications and agreements set forth above shall continue to be secured following completion of the project by Contractor providing a maintenance bond in the amount of 100% of the full contract price on a form commonly used in the industry and acceptable to the District, and for this purpose said bond shall remain in force for a period of one (1) year after the date of the final payment. However, Contractor shall be responsible for damage proximately caused by an act of God within the meaning of Section 4150 of the Government Code only to the extent of five percent (5%) of the contract amount. Time is of the essence in the performance of this Contract. Contractor will be assessed liquidated damages in the amount of $200.00 per calendar day for each day of unauthorized delay in completing performance. Should any question arise regarding the meaning or import of any of the provisions of this Contract or written or oral instructions from District, the matter shall be referred to District's General Manager, whose decision shall be binding upon Contractor. Contractor shall complete all work required herein on or before April 4, 2024
