Sealed bids are hereby solicited for construction of 110 linear feet of sidewalk and three (3) CG-12A and one (1) CG-12M handicap access ramps at the intersection of Huntsman Boulevard and Spelman Drive. This project is to upgrade pedestrian access to the Orange Hunt Elementary School with easier and safer access for pedestrians to cross Huntsman Boulevard at the Spelman Drive intersection. This is a UNIT price Contract. Contract length is 90 calendar days. This is a Federally Funded Project, Davis Bacon, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), and related acts apply All bidders must be pre-qualified by VDOT to be eligible for a contract award. All questions concerning the project shall be submitted in writing to the Director, Utilities Design & Construction Division, Department of Public Works and Environmental Services, 12000 Government Center Parkway, Suite 463, Fairfax, VA 22035-0056, or by emailing DPWESCAPUDCDTransportationInquiry@fairfaxcounty.gov,and to be given consideration, must be received at least seven (7) days prior to the date fixed for the opening of the bids. This office is the only point where information will be disseminated. Bid Security must accompany each proposal in accordance with Information for Bidders. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of Seventy-five (75) days after the opening thereof. The Board of Supervisors of Fairfax County, Virginia reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive informalities and irregularities in bidding and to accept bids which are considered to be in the best interest of the County.
