Bids received: 1. CNS Construction Services - $1,096,00.00 The Symmes Valley Local School District Board of Education is accepting proposals from firms to construct a new auxiliary building. "After speaking to our maintenance man there are a couple ways he sees that access to sewer lines could be handled. Either way he believes an injection pump will need to be used. Our estimate is that one way could require an estimated 600-700 feet of line to connect to existing sewer lines and an alternative would be a direct approach to the building's closest bathrooms at an estimated 150 feet but that may require saw-cutting the floor inside the school. If that is the recommended approach, we would want to have more of a conversation because of the impact to the interior of the building. Again, we invite any of you out for a site visit at any time." To all prospective Proposers, Here is a list of additional questions posed by a proposer and the answers as best as we can provide. (Answers will be in Red text.) Symmes Valley Auxiliary Building - Questions 1. Is site ready to build on or will it need extensive earthwork? We estimate there is a moderate amount of earthwork and would strongly suggest a site visit before final preparation of a proposal. 2. Electrical: Size of service, overhead or underground, new or connecting to an existing service. Our preference would be 200 amp, 480 volt service, underground is preferred, would likely require new service. Lighting and device requirements. 277 volt lighting preferred. 3. HVAC: What type of heating system? Propane package unit. Do you want A/C? Yes. Would the HVAC system be roof mounted? That would be our preference, however costs may persuade us to look at an alternative. Do you require building ventilation (wall exhaust fan and intake louvers)? Would prefer that be handled through the HVAC. 4. Plumbing: How far is sewer from building site? We will need to determine, hopefully in a couple days and will send out an additional email. • What is the number of toilets, urinals, and sinks in each restroom? To be determined by State Building code for size/occupancy of building. • Is gas available and how far from building site? Will likely require a propane tank. • Are eave gutters required to be piped into a storm water drain system? Yes. 5. Finishes: • Does the court material extend wall to wall? If not, what is the finish of the remaining floor area? No, the court material would cover the playing surface area only. The rest of the floor space would be sealed concrete. • What is the number, location, and size of the transom windows? We would prefer 14 5' x 2' picture windows. Seven along each (long) side. We will consider all proposals independent of each other obviously, and if other proposers feel strongly that our preferences can be satisfied by what they are proposing, and conversely, if any proposers feel we should strongly consider something more robust, we will take all that information into consideration. I am not trying to be vague here but essentially we are relying on you (the proposers) to put forth your best package. At the end of the day, our biggest concern is that we have a building that will meet or exceed all necessary building codes for the state of Ohio, creating a safe environment for our students, staff, and visitors.
