Millie Neidhardt Procurement Specialist Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District 260 West Seeboth Street Milwaukee, WI 53204-1446 e-mail: eneidhardt@mmsd.com The purpose of the 43rd Street Ditch project is to reduce the risk of flooding for 13 structures within the floodplain along the 43rd Street Ditch, reduce roadway flooding from 43rd Street Ditch at the intersection of two major arterial roads: W. Lincoln Avenue and S. 43rd Street, and address failing assets (corrugated metal pipe culverts and concrete channel lining). In conjunction with Project W40009 - Jackson Park, this project will also provide flood storage to reduce flood risk downstream on the KK River where over 300 residential and commercial structures are located in the 1% annual probability floodplain. The District completed preliminary engineering for the recommended improvements at 43rd Street Ditch, and this work is detailed in the 43rd Street Ditch Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) - (HNTB, January 2024). The District is requesting professional services of a Consultant to perform final design for the 43rd Street Ditch Design project (W42003). The work includes refining the designs and producing construction plans and specifications for the flood storage basin, inline weir/diversion structure, open channels and culvert improvements as identified in the RFP. The project will include stakeholder and public feedback throughout the project. The District will lead the stakeholder and public outreach for this project, and the Consultant shall participate and provide materials to assist with the outreach.
