The Work generally includes shoulder spraying on a total of 782 kilometers of municipal roadside (both sides of road), to be completed between July 15 - August 31, 2024. The kilometer total includes spraying for 1 km of linear distance on both sides of the roadway or 2 km of total ditch linear distance for spraying. (1 km of linear road indicated on the map = 2 km of ditch linear spraying). The contractor shall supply the required human resources and equipment to apply herbicide on a spot treatment basis for up to 782 kilometers (both sides of the road/see attached map). The actual number of kilometers may be adjusted at the discretion of the County. Spot treatment (as required) or herbicide application will be from gavel to fence line or tree line targeting all brush and broadleaved weeds. broadleaved weeds will include all noxious and prohibited noxious weeds as designated in the Weed Act including Sweet Clover. Minimum water volume of 200 L/hectare is required when applying herbicide. Herbicide application will be completed in accordance with all relevant legislation, pesticide labels and industry best practices. The County or St. Paul will supply all herbicide and surfactants required for the program. Clearview (230 g/ha) and Gateway(.25% v/v) will be the herbicides used for this program. Special care must be taken to ensure no damage to county infrastructure (e.g., Signs and culverts). The County of St. Paul will supply water from one of four water stations throughout the County, but the hauling of water from the water stations is the responsibility of the contractor.
