**As of March 29, 2024, This project has been awarded to American Asphalt South, Inc., with the awarded amount of $2,495,489.60.** The project's general work occurs in twenty-four physically separated locations. The twenty-four locations shown in the plans will require some methods of maintenance. The plans for all the different zones of this project consist of laying down slurry seal, grind and overlay of asphalt concrete, full depth removal and replacement of asphalt concrete and aggregate base, and the removal and replacement of damaged concrete sidewalks, curbs and gutters. As part of the work the Contractor shall furnish all labor, technical and professional services, supervision, materials, equipment, tools, and incidentals as required by the Plans, Specifications, and Contract Documents. All bidders shall be licensed in accordance with provisions of the Business and Professions Code and shall possess a State of California Contractor's license, Class A or appropriate license per State of California, at the time of contract award. The successful Contractor and its subcontractors will be required to possess business licenses from the City. COMPLETION OF WORK. The work is expected to start by April 8, 2024. All Base work shall be completed in its entirety within 90 working days from said date. GUARANTEE Each bid shall be made on the proposal form furnished by the City on the Planet Bids website and shall be in accordance with the Plans, Specifications, and Contract Documents and shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or bidder's bond, payable to the City in a sum not less than ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid, as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into the contract for the work, the full amount of such guarantee to be forfeited to the City should said bidder fail to enter into said Contract. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Faithful Performance Bond in the amount of not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, and a Labor and Materials Bond in an amount of not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, said bonds to be underwritten by sureties qualified to do business in the State of California, preferable carrying a rating of A or better, in the current edition of Bests Insurance Guide. CITY'S RIGHTS RESERVED. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in a bid, and to make awards in the interest of the City. None of the 3 lowest bidders may withdraw their bid for a period of ninety (90) days after the bid opening. RECORD RETENTION. Contractor must keep project records for a period of five (5) years after project completion. SCOPE OF WORK. The work to be done consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, tools, and incidentals as required by the Plans, Specifications, and Contract Documents.
