The purpose of this Request for Quote is to obtain the services of a qualified general contractor (GC) to construct renovations to Doris E. Buffett Pool located at 1300 Dixon Street in Fredericksburg, Virginia. The City is requesting pool renovation services as the base line option for this RFQ and all quotes will be evaluated solely on these services. However, should a "Contractor" wish to offer additional alternative services, the City would consider those as well once a vendor is selected. A listing of potential options will be included under the 'Optional Alternatives' section of the Scope of Work. The "Contractor" can submit quotes for either the base line option or only the options that falls within their scope. All work shall be completed in a professional manner and according to standard practices. Company to furnish all supervision, labor, tools, general conditions, scaffolding, equipment (including safety), materials and supplies necessary for the performance of this work in a proper, efficient and workmanlike manner. Company shall perform the work in a prompt and diligent manner with a completion prior to season opening May 10, 2024. Pool re-plaster zero entry/ swallow end area: Large portions of the pool's plaster necessitates removal and replacement. The "Contractor" will be required to provide the City with specifications for replacement. Drain Main Pool. Inspect all return/skimmer fittings, handrail anchors, and vacuum ports to insure proper operation. Inform City of any and all issues. Saw cut/V cut area under waterline tiles around entire main pool to feather future plaster to tiles. Remove plaster and concrete from around pipe penetrations. Fill all pipe penetrations with hydraulic cement. Sand/grind down area to blend seems so it is even with pool surface. Apply new transition tiles and step/trim tiles where required. (tiles to be 2" x 2") Prepare inner shell with acid wash and high pressure water blast pool interior. Then neutralize the pool shell with a TSP-phosphate free solution. (minimum of 4000 psi) After cleaning the pool shell surface, a high quality BondKote/ScratchKote material will be applied. The bond coat upon curing will be rough in texture allowing for the best bonding of the plaster. Apply the new plaster over the entire pool surface, ensuring correct mixture and drying times to prevent future cracking and chipping. Pool will be filled immediately after the resurfacing.
