Lewis County is accepting bids in response to this Bid Call for East County Sheriff's Substation, Tenant Improvements. The objective of this Call for Bids is to contract with a service provider that will provide the best overall value to Lewis County While price is a significant factor, other criteria will also form the basis of our award decision, as more fully described in the Bid Evaluation and Contractor Selection section of this Request for Proposal below. The project may include, but is not limited to: Construction of an office inside an existing "pole barn" structure to serve as a remote Sheriff's Office customer service location to serve east Lewis County residents. Throughout this project there will be a need to maintain quality control and management of cost and expenses. The selected service provider will be expected to ensure that all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations are followed. Question Submission Deadline: February 16, 2024, 12:00pm Questions that are received prior to the questions deadline identified in this Bid Call shall be submitted through the OpenGov website. When the sum of the base bid plus all additive bid alternates is $125,000.00 or less, bid security is not required. When the sum of the base bid plus all additive alternates is greater than $125,000.00, a bid guarantee in the amount of 5% of the base bid amount is required. Failure of the bidder to provide bid guarantee when required shall render the bid non-responsive. Acceptable forms of bid guarantee are: A bid bond or postal money order, or certified check or cashier's check made payable to the Lewis County Treasurer. The Owner will return bid guarantees (other than bid bond) to unsuccessful bidders as soon as practicable, but not sooner than the execution of a contract with the successful bidder. The successful bidder's bid guarantee will be returned to the successful bidder with its official notice to proceed with the work of the contract. Lewis County has constructed a building at 8911 US Highway 12 near Randle to be utilized as an East Lewis County Sheriff's Office vehicle storage and Substation Building. The shell is completed and this project will provide tenant improvements including a conditioned office space, electrical service, lighting, power distribution, interior plumbing and other items Question Submission Deadline February 21, 2024, 12:00pm The Project estimate is $150,000 1. Field verify all conditions, dimensions and locations prior to start of work 2. Perform all demolition work in compliance to applicable codes and standards. 3. Patch and repair all surfaces to match existing where items are removed or altered. 4. Patch, repair and paint all surfaces and building elements damaged by mechanical and electrical work and where mechanical and electrical items are removed, relocated or added. 5. Coordinate and install all necessary blocking, backing, and shims for fixtures, accessories, equipment and hardware. 6. The contractor must coordinate all activities and subcontractor activities with the owner s representative. Coordinate stockpile and storage/staging areas on and off site with owner s representative and local jurisdiction prior to start of work.
