Project Scope of Work: Remove existing chain-link fencing, gates, poles and pole footings. Coordinate with the County of Los Angeles Public Works and construct two (2) new 30-foot wide driveways. Coordinate with the County of Los Angeles Public Works and relocate one (1) street sign. Remove two (2) on-site trees and roots. Remove existing swing sets and rubber mat surfacing. Remove existing tennis court. Grub, grade, over excavate, compact and install new asphalt paving to construct a new parking area. Grub, grade, over excavate, compact and install new asphalt paving to construct a new drop-off lane. Furnish and install new asphalt paving seal coat. Strip the parking lot. Furnish and install accessible parking signs. Construct one (1) accessible curb ramp with truncated domes. Construct new concrete curb and gutter. Construct new drainage drywell and catch basins. Repair gutter and downspout. Repair stucco damage at west side of Building E. Construct new concrete paving. Furnish and install new wrought iron fence. Furnish and install new chain-link fencing, gates and vinyl privacy slats. Furnish and install four (4) new parking lot lights, poles and bases. Remove, furnish and install new "George Washington Carver School" letter sign. Furnish and install new irrigation system. Furnish and install new hydroseed. All bids shall comply with the prevailing wage rate determination made by the Federal Davis-Bacon Wage requirements as stated by U.S. Dept of Labor. It is your responsibility to print 2 copies of the prevailing wage rates, one for your office file and one to post at the job site. You are also responsible for complying with the apprenticeship standards requirements of the Labor Code. Pre-Bid Requests for Information (RFIs) are to be submitted to Eliana Roaro via email at eroaro@compton.k12.ca.us no later than Wednesday, February 21, 2024, 10:00 am. DVBE. Section 17076.11 of the Education Code requires school districts using funds allocated pursuant to the State of California School Facility Program for the construction and/or modernization of school building(s) to have a participation goal for disabled veteran business enterprises ("DVBE") of at least three percent (3%) per year of the overall dollar amount expended on projects that receive state funding. For any project that is at least partially state-funded, the low Bidder must submit certification of compliance with the procedures for implementation of DVBE contracting goals with its signed Agreement. DVBE Certification Participation Forms are attached. Bidders should not submit these forms with their Bids. Questions. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Contract Documents are to be directed in writing to Eliana Roaro via email at eroaro@compton.k12.ca.us no later than Wednesday, February 21, 2024, 10:00 a.m. Questions received less than SEVEN (07) calendar days prior to the date for opening Bids may not be answered. Only questions answered by formal written Addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect. Time for Completion: It is hereby understood and agreed that the Contractor shall complete the Work within NINETY (90) calendar days ("Contract Time") from the date specified in the District's Notice to Proceed. The District shall not approve an early completion schedule by the Contractor. A schedule showing the Work completed in less than the Contract Time indicated in the Contract, shall be considered to have Project Float.
