Renovation of an educational facility in Rapid City, South Dakota. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Seal open joints, whether or not the joint is indicated on drawings, unless specifically indicated not to be sealed. Exterior joints to be sealed include but are not limited to: a. Joints between door, window, and other frames and adjacent construction. b. Joints between different exposed materials. c. Openings below ledge angles in masonry. d. Other joints indicated below. 2. Interior Joints: Do not seal interior joints unless specifically indicated to be sealed. Interior joints to be sealed include, but are not limited to, the following items. a. Joints between door, window, and other frames and adjacent construction. b. In sound-rated wall and ceiling assemblies, gaps at electrical outlets, wiring devices, piping, and other openings; between wall/ceiling and other construction; and other flanking sound paths. c. Other joints indicated below. 3. Do not seal the following types of joints: a. Intentional weep holes in masonry. b. Joints indicated to be treated with manufactured expansion joint cover, or some other type of sealing device. c. Joints where sealant is specified to be provided by manufacturer of product to be sealed. d. Joints where installation of sealant is specified in another section. e. Joints between suspended panel ceilings/grid and walls. B. Exterior Joints: Use nonsag polyurethane sealant, unless otherwise indicated. C. Interior Joints: Use nonsag polyurethane sealant, unless otherwise indicated. D. Interior Wet Areas: Bathrooms and restrooms; fixtures in wet areas include plumbing fixtures, countertops, cabinets, and other similar items. Finish interior surfaces exposed to view, unless fully factory-finished and unless otherwise indicated. Test, adjust, and balance the following: 1. Fans. 2. Air Inlets and Outlets. 3. Air Coils. Bidders should carefully examine the site of the proposed work, subsurface conditions, the Plans and Specifications, and the bid and contract documents governing the project. The submission of bids is conclusive evidence that the bidder has investigated and is satisfied as to the conditions to be encountered; the character, quality, and scope of the proposed work; the quality and quantity of the materials to be furnished; and the requirements of the bid, the Plans and Specifications, and the other Contract Documents. The Plans and Specifications are to be used only with respect to this project and are not to be used for any other project or purposes other than preparing a bid for this project; the Plans and Specifications will not be disseminated to any person or entity for purposes other than obtaining pricing information without the express written approval of the state; all information contained in the Plans and Specifications is confidential; and should the bidder disseminate the Plans and Specifications to an individual or entity for purposes of obtaining pricing information, the bidder will require that individual or entity to adhere to the terms set forth herein. The bidder, however, assumes no liability for the misuse of the Plans and Specifications by such third party or such third party's failure to comply with the provisions contained herein.
