(CCHC) desires to contract with a (General Contractor) to provide construction services for a Pharmacy Suite to be located at 8401Medical Plaza Dr., Suite 300, Charlotte, NC 28262. The contractor selected should be highly qualified in the field of Pharmacy and Clinical Construction Alterations. Background: CCHC is a not-for-profit, community health center with (4) locations in the central region of North Carolina, more specifically, Mecklenburg, County. The mission of federally qualified community health centers like Charlotte Community Health Clinic is to improve the health status and decrease health disparities of medically underserved. We address the unique and significant barriers to affordable and accessible health care services for our community, and through the addition of a Pharmacy, our patient population will have access to affordable medicines as they need them. We believe all people should have ready access to the full range of primary, preventive, enabling, and supplemental medical health care services, including dental care, mental health care, and substance abuse services, either directly on-site or though established arrangements without regard to ability to pay. To that end, we provide complete preventive and primary health care we make health care affordable and accessible for the residents of Mecklenburg and surrounding counties. Description of Facilities: Charlotte Community Health Clinic facilities located at 8401 Medical Plaza Blvd, Charlotte NC 28262 is within a larger medical office building that includes primary care and specialty clinics. The building was built in the early nineties, and the landlord has maintained the facility very well. Attached to the request for proposal is a copy of the landlord's tenant construction manual, and the contractor's building rules and regulations. Overview of Proposed Space: attached to this request for proposal is a conceptual view of the intended renovation. o Gross Square Footage of Clinical Space is 2,300 square feet o Located in an active facility, contractor will have to follow building rules attached. o The building is a smoke free campus, there will be no smoking on the premises. o The building was used as a conference space and a few offices it will require select demolition to adapt the floor plan to accommodate the Pharmacy layout o The building does not have a freight elevator, but the existing elevators has adequate ceiling height to accommodate large items. o All of the basic utilities are connected to the building
