Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Compton, California. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
Remove existing chain-link fencing, gates, poles, and pole footings. Furnish and install new chain-link fencing and gates. Modify existing wrought iron fence, furnish, and install two (2) new wrought iron gates. Furnish and install two (2) gate motors, loops, and keypads. Remove existing concrete paving. Submit plan and Pay the City of Compton for the Driveway Permit. Coordinate with the City of Compton Public Works and construct two (2) new 30-foot-wide driveways. Remove, cap, and relocate irrigation line and sprinkler heads. Re-seed repaired grass area. Grub, grade, over excavate, compact and install new asphalt paving to construct a new parking area. Seal and Strip the parking lot. Furnish and install accessible parking signs. Furnish and install concrete tire stops. Furnish and install accessible curb ramps with truncated domes. Construct new concrete curb and gutter. Paint curb per plan. Construct new concrete paving. Furnish and install seven (7) new parking lot lights, poles and concrete bases. Location- 15301 S San Jose Ave Compton, CA 90221 A bid bond issued by an admitted surety insurer on the form provided by the District, b. cash, or c. a cashier's check or a certified check, drawn to the order of the Compton Unified School District, in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid price. This bid security shall be a guarantee that the Bidder shall, within seven (7) calendar days after the date of the Notice of Award, enter into a contract with the District for the performance of the services as stipulated in the bid. The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Payment Bond if it is awarded the contract for the Project. Any bid protest by any Bidder regarding any other bid on this Project must be submitted in writing to the Chief Facilities Officer, Nathaniel C. Holt , at 417 West Alondra, Compton, CA 90220 (email, nholt@compton.k12.ca.us), before 3:00 p.m. of the THIRD (3rd) Business Day following the date of bid opening. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Contract Documents are to be directed in writing to Eliana Roaro via email at eroaro@compton.k12.ca.us no later than Wednesday, February 21, 2024, 10:00 a.m. Questions received less than SEVEN (07) calendar days prior to the date for opening Bids may not be answered. Only questions answered by formal written Addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect. District reserves the right to reject any or all bids, including without limitation the right to reject any or all nonconforming, non-responsive, unbalanced, or conditional bids,to re-bid, and to reject the bid of any bidder if District believes that it would not be in the best interest of the District to make an award to that bidder, whether because the bid is not responsive or the bidder is unqualified or of doubtful financial ability or fails to meet any other pertinent standard or criteria established by District. The district also reserves the right to waive inconsequential deviations not involving price, time, or changes in the Work. For purposes of this paragraph, an "unbalanced bid" is one having nominal prices DVBE (3%)
