Grass Mowing and Trimming for Cumberland County Properties BID BOND: Bids shall be accompanied by cash, certified check, cashier's check, bank good faith check or other irrevocable letter of credit in the amount of ten (10) percent of the bid (ten percent of the lump sum determined by multiplying the per mowing price by 24; i.e., 0.10 x per mowing price x 24 = amount of bid bond) drawn upon a bank authorized to do business in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, or by a bond with corporate surety in the amount of ten (10) percent of the bid. The bid security of the successful bidder will be retained until such bidder has executed the Agreement, furnished the required contract security (if required), and met the other conditions of the Notice of Award, whereupon the bid security will be returned. In the event the successful bidder fails to execute and deliver the Agreement and to furnish the required contract security (if required) within the number of days set forth in the bid specifications, the County may annul the Notice of Award and the bid security of the bidder will be forfeited. The bid security of the other bidders whom the County believes to have a reasonable chance of receiving the award may be retained by the County until the earlier of 14 days after the effective date of the Agreement or the day after the last day the bids remain subject to acceptance as set forth in the bid specifications, whereupon the bid security furnished by such bidders will be returned. Bid security of bidders who the County believes do not have a reasonable chance of receiving the award will be returned within 14 days after the bid opening. The successful bidder(s) shall provide County with a performance bond or other irrevocable letter of credit in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the lump sum bid amount (determined by multiplying the per mowing price by 24; i.e., per mowing price x 24 = amount of performance bond) within 20 days of notice of award of contract.
