This contract is subject to utilization goals and requirements for participation of certified Minority Business Enterprises (MBE). The utilization requirement for certified African American Owned Business Enterprises is 6% of the total contract sum. The overall utilization goal for Minority-Owned Business Enterprises is 15% and for Women-Owned Business Enterprises is 15%. Include with the submitted bid, a ten (10%) percent bid bond or a certified check made payable to the City of Bridgeport with its bid submission if the bid is $50,000.00 or more, except for bids from MBEs, for which a bid bond is required on bids that are $100,000 or more. The successful bidder, prior to permission to proceed, will be required to post a payment bond of 100% of the contract price if the contract price is in excess of $100,000, and a performance bond for 100% of the contract price, if the bid is $50,000.00, or more except that performance bondsfrom MBEs will only be required on projects that are $100,000.00 or more. The City of Bridgeport reserves the right to Reject any or all bids in whole or in part or to waive any informality in bidding if doing so is deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Bridgeport.
