New construction of a restaurant in Jensen Beach, Florida. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a restaurant.
Update:https://www.martin.fl.us/resources/capital-improvement-plan Design and permitting is underway to replace the 33 year old Sand Dune Café. The new design will utilize the existing foot print which will consist of a public deck, beach access, public restroom and café. The design and permitting is expected to take place well into FY25. Active parkland impact fees that are collected over several budget cycles will be the primary funding source. Project is included Martin County Fiscal Year 2025-2029 Page No 98 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- https://www.crainsgrandrapids.com/news/hospitality-tourism/gun-lake-casino-launches-10m-project-to-add-restaurant-and-gaming-space/ When completed in 2025, it will add a 252-room hotel with a spa, multiple indoor swimming pools, a 24-hour restaurant called Sand Hill Cafe in homage to the casino's former eatery of the same name, as well as quick-service pool concessions and grab-and-go options. _____________________________ In May 2013, a public design workshop was held to provide input on the future of the café. The workshop revealed that the beachfront café is an incredible location and is an amenity not likely to ever be repeated in Martin County. This site and function have enormous value. Based on the overwhelming success of the newly constructed Sea Side Cafe in Stuart and its enormous economic value to the community, now is the time to start planning for the replacement and investment of the 32-year of structure at Jensen Beach. As of February 6, 2024, this project is included in the Martin County's FY 2024-2028 and funding is allotted for construction in FY 2025 and FY 2026. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
