Site work and paving for a civil project in New Hampton, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.

The extent of work on this project is the furnishing of all labor, supervision, equipment, tools, and materials for the construction of improvements in Chickasaw County, Iowa, generally described as follows: Installation of 8 inch water main extension and restoration. 1 LS Mobilization 20 Ton Surface Aggregate, Streets and Drives 10 Ton Foundation Aggregate 30 Ton Special Backfill Material, Trench 1 Each Connect to Existing Water Main 1515 LF Water Main, 8", Trenchless 225 LF Water Service, 4" 335 Lbs. Water Main Fittings 2 Each Hydrant Assembly 1 Each Flushing Hydrant Assembly 1 Each Gate Valve & Box, 8" 1 Each Gate Valve & Box, 4" 2 Each Gate Valve, Flanged, 4" 1 LS Water Meter Assembly 1 LS Disconnect Ex. Water lines and Cap 1 LS Surface Restoration 1 LS Traffic Control All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to Engineer in writing. Submit these items to the following: Rustin Lingbeek, Project Manager Short Elliott Hendrickson Inc. 215 North Adams Mason City, IA 50401 rlingbeek@sehinc.com Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda delivered to all parties recorded as having received the Bidding Documents. Questions received less than 7 days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. Only questions answered by Addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect. Work shall be substantially completed prior to October 31, 2024. All work shall be completed and ready for final acceptance by November 30, 2024. Substantial completion is defined as follows: All work is complete except for finish grading of turf restoration areas, seeding, and minor clean up. Each bid must be accompanied in a separate envelope by a bidding check or bid bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) percent of the bid price, said check being either a certified or cashier's check, drawn on a bank in Iowa, or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States, or a Certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States, and made payable to Chickasaw County, Iowa, as security that the bidder will furnish the required bonds and enter into a contract within ten (10) working days, excluding Saturday, Sunday, and holidays, after the award of the contract to him. Chickasaw County, Iowa, reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive technicalities and irregularities.
