Demolition, site work and asbestos abatement for a municipal facility in Ottawa, Ontario. Completed plans call for the demolition of a municipal facility; for site work for a municipal facility; and for asbestos abatement for a municipal facility.
The scope of work includes but is not limited to the demolition and removal of selected portions of exterior building components and interior building components, and abatement in sections with asbestos, silica and lead, if applicable. The overall project involves full rehabilitation of an existing Office Tower at the Lester B Pearson Building in Ottawa, ON. EllisDon Corporation, acting as the Construction Manager on behalf of BGIS, is inviting Bidders to submit their Statement of Qualifications to pre-qualify to bid on the Lester B. Pearson Rehabilitation - Tower C Project. The project is at 125 Sussex Drive, Ottawa, ON. This pre-qualification process is the first phase of a two-phase procurement process; the second phase is the tendering process. During the Tendering Phase, the pre-qualified bidders will be invited to prepare and submit stipulated price tenders for this work. The successful bidder will be required to enter a contract with the Construction Manager based on a modified EllisDon Stipulated Price Subcontract. Phase 3 of the project covers Tower C located on the North-East side of the complex. The tower consists of seven (7) levels of primarily office space plus a mechanical penthouse. This phase is similar to previous phases 1 and 2, involving the removal of interior finishes (except in heritage significant areas), mechanical and electrical services, and exterior enhancements such as precast concrete cladding, curtain wall replacement, terrace roofing, landscaping, lighting, and photovoltaic solar panels. Based on the available design information, the preliminary estimated cost for this scope of work is valued CAD$9,700,000 for the Tower C phase. The work will begin upon contract award and will be executed within the Construction Manager's overall construction schedule. The scheduled duration for this work will be confirmed in the second stage of tendering. The work is anticipated to start in November 2024 and end approximately in May 2025. EllisDon and BGIS, at their sole discretion, reserve the right to accept any SOQ that they deem responsive, or may reject any or all SOQs received in response to this RFQ.
