ACCT.# 523-CB5E-BD09-00 The Contractor shall provide all of the materials and perform all the work described in the Specifications and/or shown on the Drawings. The Fire Alarm Life Safety System of the Warren RJDC will be upgraded per the Kentucky Building Code with Current Revisions, Americans with Disabilities Act, International Building Code, National Fire AlarmandSignalingCodeNFPA72, and National Electrical Code. An intelligent, addressable fire alarm system shall be provided in accordance with National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code requirements as well as the requirements of the State Fire Marshall's Office. The system will comply with all manufacturers' requirements and shall report compatible alarm signals to the remote central system via an externally mounted dialer. The fire alarm system will monitor any and all sprinkler system flow switches, tamper switches, kitchen hood monitor, elevator recall, and duct mounted smoke detectors as well as heat detectors and smoke detectors. Contractor is to include a one year monitoring service for the Fire Alarm System. The Owner's preferred daily work schedule shall be Monday-Thursday 10 hour/day. There are no Contractor working day son Friday-Sunday. A 48 hour notification is required for any outage of the existing Fire Alarm System. Any damaged utility by the Contractor must be put back into service immediately. METHOD OF BIDDING: Bids will be received from Prime Contractors on a Lump Sum Bid Basis for the total project. All phases of work shall be bid to and through the Prime Contracting Firms. Bids shall be submitted in the manner herein described and on the official bid document form included with the conditions and specifications and shall be subject to all the conditions asset forth and described in the Bid Documents. BID WITHDRAWAL: No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of thirty (30) days after the date set for the opening of bids. BONDING: All bids shall be accompanied by a bid guarantee (in the form of a bid bond or certified check) of not less than five(5%)percent of the amount of the lump sum base bid. A 100% Performance Bond and a separate 100% Payment Bond shall be furnished by the successful bidder. All bonding and insurance requirements are contained in the Instructions to Bidders and/or General Conditions. Bonds should be executed by a surety company authorized to do business by the Kentucky Secretary of State and the Kentucky Department of Insurance within the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
