Site work for a water / sewer project in Port Charlotte, Florida. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

This is for the services of a Contractor to perform replacement work to successfully restore the functionality and structural integrity of the wastewater collection system of manhole 3371 and the connecting sewer lines in the Charlotte County Utilities Collection System. Estimated Budget is $105,000. Local License (s) required to perform the services for this project are: Certified/Registered General, Certified/Registered Master Plumber, Certified/Registered Underground Utility. The selected method to replace the manhole shall be reviewed by CCU prior to the start of construction. This work includes, but not limited to: 1. Obtain Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) approval from Public Works. 2. Set up MOT seven (7) days prior to starting the work and follow Charlotte County Public Works MOT Policy. Set up traffic control devices following MUTCD and FDOT Design Standards and in accordance with Charlotte County Maintenance of Traffic Policy Specifications 3. Locate other underground services that can be impacted by the construction. 4. Notify residents within the impacted area seven (7) days and again 24 hours in advance about the type of work that is going to take place. 5. Set up bypass operations. 6. Set dewatering equipment. (If needed) 7. Remove existing concrete manhole. 8. Stabilize the ground for the new concrete manhole. 9. Install new manhole to the correct elevation. 10. Construct Manhole Bench and Inverts Channels. 11. Install new ring and cover. 12. Reconnect the manhole to the existing clay mains. 13. Replace at least 10-feet of clay pipe out from the manhole with new PVC pipe. 14. Replace defective clay pipe beyond 10-feet with new PVC pipe as approved by CCU. 15. Install manhole lining. 16. Repair the road following Public Works standards. 17. Other areas impacted by the construction shall be restore to the original or better condition. Discrepancies, omissions, or questions about the intent of the documents should be submitted to the Purchasing Division in written form as a request for interpretation no later than five (5) calendar days prior to bid opening (or shall be verbally addressed at the pre-bid conference).
