Hoover City Schools HVAC Equipment Replacement Phase 1 And 2 1. SCOPE OF WORK: Green Valley Elementary School: Replace Rooftop Units Rocky Ridge Elementary School: Replace Rooftop Units Replacement of packaged rooftop air conditioning units that have reached the end of their useful life cycle. A variety of unit types will be replaced and include the following: Dx cooling with gas furnaces; Dx cooling heat pumps with auxiliary electric heat; Dx cooling only. All units being replace contain refrigerant R22, which will be recovered by the contractor and turned over to Hoover City Schools. To facilitate replacement of the rooftop units' electrical connections will be disconnected and reconnected. New disconnects will be provided but the existing feeders shall be reused. New natural gas piping will be installed between the existing gas cock and the unit connections and will include new supports, dirt leg, gas cock and gas regulator. Where possible existing curb will be reused as is or equipped with new curb adaptors. Additionally, the rooftop units will be integrated with the existing building automation system. The control contractor shall reuse existing controllers were possible, or provide new, and provide all wiring, software, and programming required or a complete and fully operational system. Work shall start on or about May 24, 2024, and shall be completed no later than August 2, 2024. The work shall be performed at two different locations within the Hoover City School system. The project locations are as follows: Rocky Ridge Elementary School: 2876 Old Rocky Ridge Road Hoover AL 35243 Green Valley Elementary School: 3200 Old Columbiana, Rd Hoover, AL 35226 Pre-qualification submittals will be received at BBG&S Engineering Consultants, Inc. 2870 Old Rocky Ridge Road, Suite 115, Birmingham, Alabama 35243 on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, no later than 2:00 pm local time, by Lawrence Bowness, Project Manager. The original and two (2) duplicates of submittals are required for pre-qualification approval; however, electronic pdf copies may be trans- mitted to the Project Manager at jbowness@bbgs.pro to expedite the review process with hard-copies of the submittals to be delivered within 24 hours. Pre-qualification Requirements Information Package may be obtained from the Prime Consultant upon letter- head request or email transmission to jbowness@bbgs.pro. The prequalification procedure is intended to identify responsible and competent prime bidders relative to the requirements of the Project. Each prospective contractor requesting pre- qualification will be notified of the results no later than February 22, 2024, at 9:00 am, local time. All Bids must be on a lump-sum basis. A Bid Bond, executed by a Surety company duly authorized and qualified to make such bonds in Alabama, payable to Hoover City Schools in the amount of 5% of the amount of the Bid, but not more than $10,000, must accompany the Bidder's Proposal. Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds in the amount of 100% of the contract price, will be required when the Contract is presented by the Contractor to the Owner. No Bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of Bids for a period of 90 days. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids; to waive formalities and technicalities, and to proceed in its' own best interests.
