Renovation of an educational facility in Sandoval, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Base Bid Scope of Work: The work includes removal of existing carpet and associated resilient base and the abatement of the following conditions: non-ACBM carpet and mastic over ACMB floor tile with nonACBM mastic; non-ACBM carpet and mastic over ACBM floor tile with ACBM mastic. Removal of non-ACBM resilient base is commensurate with the work. Miscellaneous electrical, plumbing and cabinetry items are included. Alternate Bid #1 Scope of Work: The work includes the removal of additional existing carpet and associated resilient base and the abatement of the following conditions: ACBM floor tile and mastic; nonACBM carpet and mastic over ACBM tile with non-ACBM mastic; ACBM floor tile with non-ACBM mastic. Removal of non-ACBM resilient base is commensurate with the work. Miscellaneous electrical, plumbing and cabinetry items are included. The first day available for construction will be approximately June 3, 2024. An earlier start date may be available if the school district is not forced to use any snow days The Owner requires the project to be substantially complete by August 2, 2024. Should the Contractor fail to complete the Work within such time, contractor agrees to compensate and will apply to the Owner for each and every day of such delay in completion of the Work beyond the Contract Time the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) per day for Work not completed by the substantial completion date as liquidated damages. Bidders will be required to provide Bid security of a sum no less than 10 percent of the Bid Sum. The bid security shall be either certified check, cashier's check, bank money order or bid bond issued by surety licensed to conduct business in the State of Illinois. Hereinafter this bid security shall be referred to as the bid bond. Successful bidder's security will be retained until he has signed the contract and furnished required payment and performance bonds. Owner reserves the right to retain security of the next two (2) lowest bidders until the lowest bidder enters into contract or until thirty (30) days after bid opening, whichever is shorter. All other bid security will be returned as soon as practicable. If any bidder refuses to enter into a contract, Owner will retain bid security as liquidated damages, but not as a penalty. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all Bids or any part thereof, to waive any informality in bidding, and to accept bids deemed most favorable to the Owner.
